Meet Your Hosts
The Freedom of Flight Museum is a nonprofit aviation museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of flight. Organized in 2012 and opened to the public in 2014, the museum displays interactive exhibits, restored artifacts, and hosts engaging programs, highlighting both global aerospace achievements and the unique contributions of the Four-State region. The museum also honors military veterans by preserving their stories and contributions, creating a meaningful connection between aviation history and those who served. Its mission is to inspire curiosity, education, and appreciation for the science, technology, and human stories behind flight.
OurVeteransFIrst is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support homeless, at-risk, and justice-involved veterans by providing them with resources and support they need to achieve stability and independence. Founded in 2019, OurVeteransFirst is focused on offering a hand up, not a handout. The organization works to remove barriers that prevent veterans from securing and maintaining safe housing and employment. Through programs such as financial assistance, life skills classes and community outreach initiatives, OurVeteransFirst equips veterans with the tools needed to build a stronger future. By partnering with local businesses, volunteers, and community members, the organization ensures that support stays local and directly impacts those who have served.
Higher Power Garage is a nonprofit organization based in Joplin dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome transportation barriers. Founded in 2020, the organization provides low-cost vehicle repairs and affordable vehicles to those in need, ensuring that reliable transportation does not stand in the way of employment, family care, or stability. Serving seniors, veterans, and low-income households, Higher Power Garage combines practical assistance with personal investment. In addition to the repairs, they offer educational programs such as basic automotive maintenance and budgeting classes to equip individuals with long-term skills for success.

DAY OF REGISTRATION PROCESS
We’ve listened and improved!
To ensure a smooth and efficient check-in experience:
Day of registration will open at 9:00 a.m.
Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Registration will be paper-based only
No electronic registration will be available onsite
Registration will close at noon and judging will begin. No late entries.
This approach helps us move participants through registration quickly and keeps everything running on time.
